THE SCHOOL
Fulham Ballet School (FBS) was set up November 2009 by Bridget Hearne-Saliba ARAD Dip PDTC RAD RTS. It is situated in the Dance Studio, Nuffield Fitness Centre, Eternit Wharf, Stevenage Road, Fulham SW6 6PF (not far from Fulham Football Ground).
Fulham Ballet School is recognised by the Council for Dance Education and Training which has very strict entrance criteria and all teachers are fully qualified with the Royal Academy of Dance.
Details of the classes currently held are:
BABIES CLASS
This class introduces young children to balance, musicality and basic motor skills. In addition creativity is inspired through the use of imagery. It is hoped that once the children have passed through this stage that they have acquired enough confidence and self-esteem to progress happily to a Syllabus class.
PRE-PRIMARY and PRIMARY CLASSES
Children in these classes follow the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) syllabus. Founded in 1920 the RAD has come to represent the very highest standard in the teaching of classical ballet. It has also grown to become the largest and most influential examining body for classical ballet in the world, operating in over 50 countries. Every teacher working at FBS has a teaching certificate from the RAD.
GRADE 1
All children who enter into Grade 1 will be considered, when the required standard has been achieved, to enter into their first examination held at the RAD Headquarters in Battersea. Examinations are held 3 times a year. However, it is not compulsory to sit the Academy's examinations and will greatly depend on the confidence of the child and interest shown by the parent.
As the school develops we will create classes for older children who will enter into more advanced grades. |
